Lebanon purchased several tens of thousands of tons of flour wheat of Ukrainian origin at a tender. Financing was provided by the World Bank.
According to market operators, the government of Lebanon contracted 63,000 tons of flour wheat originating from Ukraine, “APK-Inform” reports.
Grain was purchased at a price of $248/ton C&F in a batch of 57 thousand fast deliveries — 43 thousand tons with delivery in June and 6.5 thousand tons with delivery in July last year.
Another 6,000 tons were purchased at a price of $247/ton C&F with delivery in July.
Financing was provided by the World Bank as part of its ongoing wheat procurement program for Lebanon.
Previously, USM reported that Egypt did not contract wheat with the Russian Federation for the second tender in a row. Instead, Egyptian buyers refocused on purchasing grain of Ukrainian, Romanian and Bulgarian origin.
