Lithuanian ports want to prevent the transshipment of grain stolen by Russia
Ukraine and Lithuania have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Grain Inspection System.
This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine.
On Friday, November 22, the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Vitaly Koval and the Minister of Agriculture of Lithuania Kazis Starkavičius signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Grain Inspection System.
“This is a tripartite document of understanding between the Ukrainian, Lithuanian and British sides. We are talking about schemes for inspecting Ukrainian grain stolen by Russia from the occupied territories using a special “GVS” system. The goal is to prevent the transshipment of this grain through Lithuanian ports,” Vitaly Koval emphasized.
As a reminder, Ukraine and the United Kingdom are developing a system to accurately determine the origin of grain exported by the Russian Federation. This will help identify facts of theft of agricultural products.
