Long-range “Neptune” will become a terrible reality for the invaders, — Zelenskyy
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the serial production and testing of Ukrainian missiles and drones.
He stated this in his speech at the presentation of the 2024 Boris Paton National Prize of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
In particular, the president announced future attacks on the occupiers’ facilities with Ukrainian anti-ship missiles “Neptune”.
“The long-range “Neptune” will soon become a terrible reality for the occupiers,” Zelenskyy commented.
He said that the “Palyanytsia” missile has now entered serial production, the “Hell” drone missile has successfully passed its first combat applications, and successful tests of the new “Ruta” missile are also underway.
The first victim of the Ukrainian “Neptune” was “Moskva”- a former cruiser and former flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. After the cruiser was destroyed, the Russians took other ships of the fleet away from the Ukrainian coast. So Ukraine had to modify its missiles to “take out” enemy ships in Crimea.
The Kiev Luch Design Bureau has taken on the production of the “Long Neptune”. This missile has enough fuel to fly 200 miles.
Earlier, USM reported that Ukraine had scaled up the mass production of “Neptune” anti-ship cruise missiles. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are using them to attack Russian ships in the occupied Crimea.
As a reminder, Romania plans to develop “Neptune” anti-ship missiles together with Ukraine.
