The owner of the ship “Zuzanna”, whose crew members complained about terrible working conditions, responded to the request of the Maritime Transport Workers Trade Union.
After the Maritime Transport Workers Trade Union applied to the ship owner, the company MV Marine Uniressoal LDA, the trade union received a reply that the situation with the technical condition of the ship had been corrected.
Maritime Transport Workers Trade Union visited and inspected the ship. The condition of the crew’s living quarters was checked and found to be satisfactory. The engine room and drinking tank were also inspected and found fit for use.
The ship’s water supply system in the cabins and galley works efficiently, providing fairly clean technical water. The galley is equipped with four cleaning filters, each crew member has enough bottled drinking water, noted the Maritime Transport Workers Trade Union.
On board there is a stock of food products, freezers and refrigerators are in satisfactory condition. There are also life jackets in all cabins and two large first aid kits for the entire crew in the common area.
In the wheelhouse, the presence and condition of emergency and rescue equipment was checked, and taking into account the sailing mode of vessel A1, the necessary equipment is available and ready for use.
In general, the trade union assessed the ship as meeting technical and domestic requirements.
