MFA: the “Grain Agreement” does not refer to additional conditions
Except for deliveries by sea, the “Grain” agreement does not mention any additional conditions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denies the existence of additional conditions in the Black Sea Grain Initiative. As part of the agreement, Ukraine has and fulfills its obligations to the UN and Turkey, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mykola Tochytskyi said in a comment to Ukrinform .
“First of all, you should clearly remember that we signed an agreement with Turkey and with the UN, respectively, we have and fulfill our obligations to the world community, the UN and Turkey. We have declared to our partners that we reserve the right to deliver our grain for such a long period (120 days – ed.) It is difficult for me to say what russia signed and what it declares,” commented Mykola Tochytskyi.
According to him, russia’s statement regarding the extension of the agreement for 60 days instead of 120 is “another game of subjectivity and an attempt to show that nothing will happen in the world without them.”
The deputy minister added that Ukraine does not have diplomatic relations with russian federation, and also rejected the conditions put forward by russia for the continuation of the “Grain Agreement”.
“If you look at the agreement we signed, it is about the supply of Ukrainian grain by sea,” concluded Mykola Tochytskyi.
As previously reported by USM, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of russia recently announced that they agree to extend the Black Sea Grain Initiative for 60, not 120 days. The reason was the alleged lack of progress in the implementation of the memorandum on the export of russian agricultural products.
