The Fourth Meeting of National Security Advisers on the Ukrainian Peace Formula was held in Davos. Representatives of 81 countries took part in the event.

During the meeting, issues of global food security and the protection of Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea were raised, Ukrinform reports.

The Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yuliya Svyridenko, stated that the priority tasks for solving the problems of global food insecurity are demining the Black Sea, strengthening air defense of the port infrastructure of Ukraine, and humanitarian aid for the most vulnerable countries.

“Currently, at least 40 countries are experiencing food insecurity, because Russia attacks not only peaceful Ukrainians, but also other people on a global scale, thousands of kilometers from Ukraine. Mined fields, destroyed grain warehouses, blockade of shipping – all this caused a shortage of food products. We discussed this issue during the discussion around the Peace Formula,” commented Svyridenko.

The Minister of Economy recalled that after the invasion of the Russian Federation, food prices reached a record level. In particular, grain prices rose to more than $400/ton. The number of people affected by the food crisis has risen to 324 million worldwide.

“We are developing a very clear plan. First of all, we need to clear the Black Sea of mines, provide insurance for ships, provide more anti-aircraft defenses for the port infrastructure. Of course, we also need to increase aid for the most vulnerable consumers. We talked about it, and it unites the countries,” added Svyridenko.
