Moravetskyi: Poland will not allow itself to be “flooded with Ukrainian grain”
Poland plans to extend the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain regardless of the decision of the European Commission.
“Poland will not allow us to be flooded with Ukrainian grain. Regardless of the decision of Brussels officials, we will not open our borders,” Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in a video on Facebook.
Thus, on September 15, the EU ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products to Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary expires. At the same time, Poland has decided to extend this ban and is ready to introduce a unilateral embargo if necessary.
In turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that the decision to extend the ban violates the rules of the EU common market.
As previously reported by USM, the European Commission is considering extending restrictions on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine to Eastern Europe.
