More than 100 dolphins died in April due to russian actions in the Black Sea

In April, more than 100 dolphins died in the Black Sea as a result of sonar attacks by russian ships.

During April, more than a hundred dead dolphins were registered in the bays of Sevastopol and near other shores of the occupied Crimea, as well as near Novorossiysk, Sochi, Gelendzhik, and Anapa.

Ecologist Ivan Rusev reported this on Facebook.

Among the animals there are contused ones, with symptoms of possible damage by military sonar.

Thus, according to russian conditionally open sources, only on the coast of the occupied Crimea since January, 77 dead cetaceans have already been counted, including contused animals. Dolphins of the bottlenose dolphin species were the most killed, although last year among the dead were mainly bottlenose dolphins and white-bellied dolphins.

If more than 100 dead animals have been registered so far, their actual number is much higher and, according to scientific calculations, is more than 1,000 individuals. This is confirmation that the activity of enemy submarines and surface boats in the part of the Black Sea near Crimea and Novorossiysk is the main factor in the continued death of rare Black Sea animals in April 2023.

In recent weeks, OC “South” also warned about the activity of enemy naval equipment. They warned about the high missile threat of “Caliber” carriers and aviation.
