Most of the crew of “Cesar Kunikov” died – Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Probably, most of the crew of the Russian amphibious assault ship “Cesar Kunikov” died.
This opinion was shared by the spokesman of the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk.
“A ship does not go to sea by itself. Accordingly, the crew was present on board the Russian amphibious assault ship “Cesar Kunikov”. Taking into account the weather conditions, the time of day – it was dark, there is a high probability that a large part of the crew died. The ambulances took them from the shore, but it is difficult to say in what condition,” Pletenchuk said.
He noted that the rescue operation began immediately after the impact and lasted about a day.

“They pulled someone out of the water, but given the fact that we didn’t even see rescue equipment on the video, most likely these sailors ended up just in the water,” said the spokesman of Defense Intelligence of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
It will be recalled that on February 14, the announced the destruction of the Russian Large Landing Craft “Cesar Kunikov” near Alupka with the help of Magura V5 marine attack drones.
