MSC suspends flights to Novorossiysk port after drone attack

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Co., the world’s largest container carrier, has suspended its service to the port of Novorossiysk after a drone attack

NV reports this according to Bloomberg. 

The decision was made following a recent attack on the MSC ULSAN III, which was en route to Novorossiysk, according to a client statement obtained by Bloomberg. The company did not specify when the incident occurred. 

MSC said it was closely monitoring the situation and advised customers to contact its Russian office to find possible logistical alternatives for imports and exports until conditions allow for the resumption of regular weekly services from the port. 

MSC continues to work with other Russian ports, including St. Petersburg in the northwestern part of the country. An employee of the company’s St. Petersburg office confirmed to Bloomberg that operations in Novorossiysk are currently suspended. 

USM previously reported that MSC is returning some services to the Red Sea and Suez Canal route.
