Mykolaiv ports are ready to work immediately after the war, but there is a problem with personnel, — Vitaliy Kim

The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration told how ready the Mykolaiv ports are for work and what challenges await the region in the future.
Vitaliy Kim spoke about this during a report on his activities, writes the portal “News N”. According to him, the Mykolaiv ports will begin work immediately after the end of the war, but the big problem is that “we have lost personnel”.
“We have not lost the port infrastructure: one loading machine was destroyed, and that’s it. But we have lost people who have moved to work where business is. Because everyone is used to working with allowances, bonuses and so on. Our main problem is personnel, in order to qualitatively restore the work of the ports,” Kim noted.
At the same time, he noted that, according to experts, the potential for increasing the volume of work of the Mykolaiv ports is 300%.
“It is not possible immediately, in 5-10 years, it is necessary that there is something to export,” the head of the region believes.
As a result, Vitaly Kim called the development of ports one of the priority areas for the regional economy in the future, in particular, due to increased productivity in the agricultural sector and increased logistics.
“Currently, there is interest from international partners in logistics, in particular, in Mykolaiv,” Kim summarized.
Earlier, USM reported that the Russians attacked the port of Chornomorsk: an oil tank was damaged.
