Mykolaiv ports cannot operate due to the threat from Russia, — Vitaliy Kim

The head of the Regional Military Administration once again emphasized that for security reasons, the restoration of shipping in the region is currently impossible.

The head of the Mykolaiv Military Administration Vitaliy Kim said this in an interview with “News. Live”.

In particular, Kim was asked how realistic it is to restore shipping in the region today.

“We really want to do this, but, unfortunately, it is not possible to do this yet. After all, the logistical route of the ships passes a kilometer from the enemy. The last time we had two barges leave, the Russians attacked them with simple weapons, in particular, with hand-held anti-tank systems. Unfortunately, two people died, the ships were damaged. Therefore, for now, this is a military situation: the ports cannot be opened,” the head of the Regional Military Administration noted.

The official also added that in Ochakiv “the occupied territory is already visible from the shore.”

“There is a narrow channel through which the ship must pass, and you can get to it there with a machine gun. There is no way to change this. The only way out is to de-occupy the Kinburn Spit and the surrounding areas. However, the Russians can interfere with normal navigation with simple weapons, because they can only reach the Odesa ports with heavy drones and missiles, which can be countered,” Kim noted.

Earlier, Vitaliy Kim shared the opinion that the Mykolaiv ports will not be able to operate until the end of the war.
