Mykolaiv ports will not be able to operate until the end of the war, — Kim

The head of the Regional Military Administration emphasized that due to the proximity to the front, the resumption of shipping in the region is currently impossible for security reasons.
The ports of the Mykolaiv region cannot resume work until the end of hostilities due to the critical proximity to the front zone. This was stated by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim.
“There is a possibility of shelling there not only with missiles, but also with the simplest weapons, which happened the last time we tried to withdraw civilian barges from there. They were fired at from hand-held complexes. Two people died,” Kim reported.
This is primarily a threat from the temporarily occupied Kinburn Spit, which is geographically too close to the ports of the region. This creates a constant danger for both vessels and personnel.
The head of the Regional Military Administartion emphasized that any attempts to activate the port infrastructure in the region directly depend on the security situation, which currently does not allow even elementary operations with vessels.
The day before, USM reported that the invaders had used the “Kinzhal” hypersonic missile on the Mykolaiv port for the first time during the full-scale invasion.
