Mykolaiv Shipbuilding Plant put up for auction an unfinished ship that had been idle for over 30 years

SE “Mykolaiv Shipbuilding Plant” is selling the unfinished hull of a refrigerator ship, which has been on the territory of the enterprise since at least 1995.
This is reported by the ПН PN portal with reference to Prozorro data.
The unfinished hull of the refrigerator ship was put up for auction with a starting price of 21.676 million. It is noted that the ship began to be built to order in 1995, but it was never completed – it is still on the slipway of the plant.
It is also indicated that the technical condition of the object is unsatisfactory and is not suitable for further use, in particular, it is impractical to restore it.
The auction was supposed to take place on August 4, but did not take place due to a lack of participants.
In a comment to PN, the director of the enterprise, Serhiy Pylypchuk, noted that there is a court decision according to which the plant must pay the customer 267 million UAH, but it is impossible to transfer the ship to him. The examination also showed that the vessel is technically unusable: it has been standing without maintenance for over 25 years, is tilting and collapsing – its cost was estimated at about 21 million UAH.
It is also noted that it is impossible to cut the vessel by the plant’s forces due to the high cost of the disposal project, risks for employees and additional costs, so the company is looking for a buyer for the unfinished ship in its current condition.
USM previously reported that the United States has put up for auction the yacht of the sanctioned Russian oligarch Suleiman Kerimov.
