NATO is strengthening the defense of the Baltic Sea against Rus
Four NATO countries agreed to prevent the blockade of the Baltic Sea by the Russian Federation.
Estonia, Poland, Sweden and Finland have significantly improved their naval defense capabilities to prevent a potential Russian blockade of the Baltic Sea. This was announced by the commander of the Estonian army, General Martin Herem.
A revanchist Russia is seeking to reform the European security architecture and regain control over “lost territories” and extend its influence into territories previously dominated by the Russian Empire and the USSR, Herem noted.
“More difficult and demanding times are probably still ahead. But we have more iron, more men, and more wisdom than ever before. This inspires confidence,” concluded the commander of the Estonian Armed Forces.
As previously reported by USM, Lithuania announced the largest exercises in the country’s history to protect the Baltic Sea.
