Navigation data for shipping is being updated on the Southern Buh

Specialists of the Mykolaiv District of the State Hydrographic Service conducted surveying work on the navigable section of the Southern Buh River.

As reported by the Mykolaiv District State Hydrographic Service, the work was carried out by surveying party No. 1 using modern hydrographic equipment. The hydrographic vessel of the Captain Sankin branch was involved in the surveying of the riverbed.

The surveying work was carried out with the aim of ensuring navigational and hydrographic safety of navigation and effective operation of inland waterways. As part of the survey, specialists updated data on the bottom relief and identified possible navigational obstacles.

The information received will become the basis for updating official navigational charts. It is expected that this will contribute to increasing the level of navigation safety on the inland waterways of Ukraine.

Earlier, USM reported that Ukrainian hydrographers are mastering unmanned vessels for surveys thanks to the support of the IHO.
