Navigation of ships in the Black Sea will become more safe
Now shipmasters will be informed of the ways of approaching the ports of Ukraine in the Mediterranean Sea.
Ukraine will inform shipowners about the approaches to Ukrainian ports in advance before ships enter the Black Sea. This was reported in the press service of “State Hydrographic Service”.
The corresponding decision was reached during a meeting with the regional coordinator of NAVAREA-III. We remind you that the Mediterranean, Black and Azov Seas belong to the NAVAREA-III navigation area, the regional coordinator is the Hydrographic Institute of the Spanish Navy.
The new approach will help shipowners plan in advance and more carefully a safe passage through the Black Sea when following the ports of Ukraine.
“State Hydrographic Service” emphasized that, despite Russian aggression, Ukraine continues to fulfill its obligations to transmit information about safety at sea in accordance with international standards and procedures established by the IMO.
USM recently wrote that the Russians are shelling the Zmiinyi Island in order to disrupt the work of the sea corridor.
