Negotiations on unblocking the border with Poland are coming to an end

Poland announced the “final stage” of negotiations with Ukraine regarding export quota.

The Minister of Agriculture of Poland, Czeslaw Sekersky, said that the negotiations on the introduction of quotas for Ukrainian products “are at the final stage.” PAP writes about it.

“We are negotiating a bilateral agreement with Ukraine. We have to implement certain principles that would determine the volume of quotas for certain goods that can enter the Polish market, so that the stability of certain markets is not affected,” the official said.

The volume of quotas for Ukrainian goods should be determined by the end of March.

We will remind, on February 9, Polish farmers again began to block checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. According to the organizers, the action will last until March 10.

The protesters plan to completely block all checkpoints and entrances to railways and seaports on February 20. According to agrarians, the “uncontrolled influx of goods from Ukraine after the opening of the EU border” poses a danger to the profitability of agricultural production in Poland.

In response to Polish farmers blocking the movement of trucks, Ukrainian transporters also started a strike at the border with Poland.
