Neizhpapa told when Ukraine will receive new mine-clearing ships
It is expected that Ukraine will receive two mine-clearing ships from the Netherlands, and one more from Belgium.
This was stated by the Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, in an interview with АрміяInform.
According to him, by the end of 2025, Ukraine will receive a full division of ships and boats for mine clearance.
Thus, in 2023, the United Kingdom transferred two mine-clearing ships to Ukraine. In 2025, the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive two more ships from the Netherlands and one from Belgium. In addition, Ukraine will receive three mine-clearing boats.
“Then by the end of 2025, we will have a full division of five warships and three boats, which are fully repaired, equipped with modern mine-clearing systems, with a trained crew,” said Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa.
It should be noted that the ship crews are trained with the help of partners both in training centers and on ships of NATO countries. Practicing joint actions with ships of partner countries and conducting certification of Ukrainian ships according to NATO standards takes place at the Sea Breeze exercises.
