New routes are being developed for the Grain from Ukraine initiative
Together with the UN World Food Program, Ukraine is developing new routes for the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian program.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this while addressing the participants of the third Summit for Democracy, writes Ukrinform.
According to him, thanks to the Grain from Ukraine initiative, tens of thousands of tons of grain have already been delivered to Yemen, Somalia, Nigeria, Sudan, and Ethiopia.
“Now, together with the UN World Food Program, we are developing new routes for the “Grain from Ukraine” program to help overcome hunger in Gaza, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of Congo and other countries,” shared Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The head of state noted that a new cargo from Ukraine will arrive in Sudan in a few days.
As previously reported by USM, Qatar joined the Grain from Ukraine initiative at the beginning of this year. The country contributed $20 million to the humanitarian food program.
