New sanctions against the Russian fleet discussed in Kyiv

The Sanctions Summit was held in Kyiv, where the fight against the so-called shadow fleet of the Russian Federation and blocking of sanctions circumvention schemes were discussed.

The summit was attended by sanctions coordinators from 21 countries, and the main topics were the shadow fleet, energy, financial sanctions, circumvention of restrictions and the activities of the Russian military-industrial complex. This was announced by the Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasyuk.

Ukrainian public organizations engaged in sanctions analysis, as well as representatives of the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Security Service of Ukraine, are participating in the summit.

Vlasyuk recalled that this year Ukraine adopted about 60 sanctions decrees. Among the recent ones are decisions on vessels that export stolen Ukrainian grain from the occupied territories, as well as the so-called “Arctic” package, aimed at restricting Russian activities in the Arctic region.

According to him, there is still much to work on, as new sanctions are planned against the shadow fleet, oil refineries, insurance companies, operators and financial intermediaries, including crypto exchanges.

Earlier, USM reported that Zelenskyy had imposed sanctions against 56 sea vessels involved in the theft of Ukrainian grain.
