“Nibulon” lost 416 million dollars and 20 thousand hectares of land due to the war

Direct losses of “Nibulon” from the war amount to 416 million dollars and 20 thousand hectares of agricultural land, which are now occupied or have become unusable.

“We counted roughly. We plan to record losses in order to compensate them in the future. We have lost control over real estate and movable property. Real estate is more than 90 million dollars, we also lost about 146,000 tons of grain for about 40 million dollars,” said Andrii Vadaturskyi, general director of JV “Nibulon” LLC.

Also, 20,000 hectares of the company’s land became unusable due to occupation or damage.

However, according to Vadaturskyi, the main item of damage is something else.

“Our main achievement in recent years was the restoration of rivers and navigation on the Dnipro. We built the elevators, the fleet and the whole system. Right now Dnipro and Mykolaiv are not operating. Before the war, 35% of grain exports from Ukraine passed through the ports of Mykolaiv,” the head of the company noted.

Estimates of logistics costs are 100-150 dollars per ton, which is about 30-50% of the price of grain.

“Producers and farmers are forced to pay together with buyers and share costs because of these inefficient logistics. “Previously, delivery from the elevator to the ship cost about 4 dollars, and from the railway elevator – up to 15 dollars,” says Vadaturskyi.

The company also lost control over some elevator capacities.

“I really hope that Mykolaiv will be included in the grain agreement. The ideal solution would be to return to normal trade, without a blockade,” concluded the head of “Nibulon”.
