“Nibulon” received another 10 new hopper cars from the USAID project
The company “Nibulon” received the second batch of wagons under the USAID “Economic Support of Ukraine” program.
The program will help improve the economics of transporting grain from commodity producers to countries suffering from hunger to overcome the world’s food crisis, the company said.
In total, USAID will purchase 50 modern hopper cars for the needs of “Nibulon”, each of which can transport up to 70 tons of grain. They were produced at the Research Mechanical Plant “Karpaty” (Lviv region).
In addition, the new wagons will make it possible to compensate for additional logistics costs from blocking the river infrastructure. They are already in use at the company’s facilities. Immediately from the manufacturer, the wagons headed for loading to the “Smotrych” branch nearest to production near Kamianets-Podilskyi in Khmelnytskyi. From here they will go to the ports of the Danube region.
In general, to compensate for the lost river logistics, which in the pre-war period reached 4.2 million tons of grain, “Nibulon” needs one route train consisting of 50 wagons for each of the blocked river ports. With wagons from USAID, the enterprise will have 212 wagons, which is about half of the need.
