“Noosfera” arrived at the Antarctic station “Akademik Vernadskyi”

The Ukrainian research icebreaker “Noosfera” reached the Antarctic station “Akademik Vernadskyi”.

The research vessel anchored near Galindez Island on January 27. “Noosfera” delivered cargo and a team of Ukrainian technical specialists to the station. In the coming months, they will carry out urgent work on the modernization of “Vernadsky”, the National Antarctic Science Center announced on Facebook.

It is assumed that after unloading, the ship will go to the Chilean port of Punta Arenas for a change of annual expeditions on the “Vernadsky”.

It will be recalled that on January 21, the icebreaker “Noosfera” delivered Polish polar explorers to the Antarctic station “Artstovskyi”.
