Norway will help the Navy of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strengthen its combat capability in the Black Sea

Commanders of the Navy of Ukraine and Norway discussed ways to support shipping safety in the Azov-Black Sea region.

The Commander of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Neizhpapa, and the Chief of the Royal Norwegian Navy, Oliver Berdal, discussed the security situation in the waters of Ukraine. This was reported in the press service of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The commanders agreed to develop alliance relations to strengthen joint capabilities in the defense sphere. Special attention was paid to the needs of the Armed Forces Navy in military assistance, taking into account challenges and threats.

We will remind, on December 11, Great Britain and Norway created a coalition for the development of maritime capabilities of Ukraine. Within the framework of the initiative, the country will supply the Armed Forces with ships and other vehicles to strengthen the ability to conduct combat operations at sea. This will help the Ukrainians transform the navy, making it more compatible with NATO, and strengthen security in the Black Sea.
