Odesa Port Plant Suspends Grain Transshipment Due to Russian Shelling

This happened immediately after the tender for the selection of a new transshipment operator for the marketing year was completed.
The OPP temporarily suspended grain transshipment operations after the invaders struck the port infrastructure at the end of June. This was reported by the company’s director Yuriy Kovalsky in a comment to NV Business.
According to him, the attack significantly damaged the plant’s warehouses, which made it impossible to continue work.
“We were forced to suspend transshipment operations. This is especially unfortunate, because the tender provided for the conclusion of a take-or-pay agreement,” Kovalsky noted.
In the 2024/25 marketing year, about 638 thousand tons of grain were transshipped through the OPP’s facilities – of which more than 625 thousand tons of corn and 12.7 thousand tons of soybeans.
Kovalsky added that the plant has been on the list of enterprises subject to privatization for many years and is now fully ready for this process. Management is focused on keeping assets in working order, despite the fact that production at the OPP has been suspended since September 2021.
Earlier, USM wrote that the Odesa Port Plant was fined half a million UAH.
