Oil transshipment was stopped at the CPC terminal in Novorossiysk
As a result of the storm on November 26, oil loading was stopped at the sea terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
Oil transshipment at the CPC terminal in Novorossiysk had to be stopped. The wind in the region reached 22-24 m/s, and the wave height forecast was estimated at 6-8 meters.
“The captain of the Novorossiysk sea port announced a storm warning, according to which oil loading at the KTK sea terminal was stopped, tankers were taken to waiting areas. The company’s tank parks are almost full. In this regard, the acceptance of oil from shippers is carried out in reduced modes,” said the Russian terminal.
We will remind you that the CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in Russia’s energy sector. The length of the Tengiz — Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports a significant part of raw materials from Russian deposits, as well as more than two-thirds of all export oil of Kazakhstan. The shipment of oil to the CPC is carried out through remote mooring devices 5 km from the coastline.
