Over 130 million tons of cargo were transported through the Ukrainian maritime corridor

Over 130 million tons of cargo have already been transported via the Ukrainian maritime corridor, of which 81 million tons are agricultural products.
This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister for Development of Communities and Territories Oleksiy Kuleba.
He noted that Ukrainian grain and food continue to arrive in dozens of countries, in particular in regions for which sea deliveries remain the only possible route – from Asia to Latin America. This makes it possible to maintain stability in the global food market even in the fourth year of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
Before the full-scale war, 94% of Ukrainian agricultural products were exported by sea, now this figure is 90%. Almost all food exports, as before, are carried out by sea, and this is critically important for the Ukrainian economy, for farmers, for international partners and millions of people waiting for Ukrainian grain.
During this period, more than 5 thousand vessels left the ports of Great Odesa. The volume of transportation includes both agricultural products and other critically important cargo: metal, ore, fertilizers, humanitarian aid.
The corridor operates despite regular missile attacks. Since the beginning of its work, 423 port infrastructure facilities have been damaged. 32 civilian vessels have been damaged. 115 people have been injured, and there are also fatalities.
“But the work of the ports continues – thanks to the professionalism and endurance of people who provide loading, logistics, support, security and coordination in conditions of constant risk. I am grateful to everyone for their work,” Kuleba added.
Earlier, USM reported that, despite the war, all Western traders who attract up to $15 billion for exports have returned to Ukraine.
