Over 2 million in losses: contractor overstated the cost of repairs at the port of Great Odesa

The management of the construction company and the responsible official of the USPA were informed of the suspicion.
This was reported by the Regional Branch of Bureau of Economic Security in the Odesa region
The investigation established that the company, which is the main contractor for works commissioned by the USPA in the south and specializes in the repair of port infrastructure, in particular hydraulic structures, concluded a contract with a state-owned enterprise to carry out repairs to a berth in one of the ports of Great Odesa.
“After the reconstruction of the berth, the contractor submitted for signature certificates of work performed, in which he entered false information about the cost of materials used during the repair, which is several times higher than the market price,” Bureau of Economic Security said.
In turn, officials of the state-owned enterprise, having entered into collusion with the contractor, signed them.
The Bureau emphasized that such actions led to the appropriation of state-owned enterprise funds in the amount of more than 2.2 million UAH.
Earlier, Bureau of Economic Security also reported that the logistics company had reimbursed more than UAH 7 million in unpaid taxes.
