Over 50,000 documents have already been issued to Ukrainian sailors this year

Since the beginning of the certification reform, the Shipping Administration has issued more than 80,000 qualification documents to seafarers, of which more than 50,000 will be issued in 2024.

We will remind you that the process of issuing documents was reformed at the beginning of 2023. As noted in the department, the most difficult challenge was “overcoming million-dollar schemes of earnings on Ukrainian sailors.”

In general, a seafarer can submit an application for the assignment of a rank and confirmation of qualifications in four ways: in person, through a representative, by mail or online through the Diya portal.

Each seafarer’s application is considered by the State Qualification Commission for Seafarers as part of the Shipping Administration. According to the decision of the Commission to issue a qualification document, an authorized person of the Shipping Administration prints qualification documents on strict reporting forms in accordance with the requirements of the law.

Also, the Shipping Administration exchanges qualification documents issued before Government Resolution No. 1499 came into effect. Submit an application for the exchange of qualification documents, for those issued in accordance with Government Resolution No. 1499, it is possible in person, through a representative, or by mail.

It is possible to obtain ready-made qualification documents at the Shipping Administration or SE “Morrichservice” in person or through a representative.
