Partial blocking of grain cargo transfer continues at Vadul-Siret station
The volume of grain cargo transfer through the Vadul-Siret-Dornesti border crossing (Romania) decreased by 66% in November.
At the Vadul-Siret-Dornesti border crossing (Romania), a partial blockage of the transfer of agricultural products continues. This was stated by the representative of Ukrzaliznytsia Valerii Tkachov, Rail.insider writes.
In October, the average volume of transfer through the crossing was 125.1 wagons per day, which is 20 units less than in September. The main decrease concerned grain, forest cargo and oil products.
In November, the situation worsened: on average, only 90 wagons per day pass through the crossing, which is 35.5 wagons less than in October. The largest reduction concerns the transfer of grain cargo – their number decreased by more than 23 wagons per day (–66%).
The reason for such a sharp drop is the investigative actions that have been carried out for more than a week at the Vadul-Siret station by employees of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine. Because of this, the transfer of grain cargoes with a gauge of 1435 mm and partially with a gauge of 1520 mm was blocked.
This situation creates significant difficulties for export deliveries, in particular grain cargoes, through the border crossing to Romania, and causes concern among market participants.
The day before, USM wrote that ARMA offers Ukrzaliznytsia to become a participant in the competition for the management of the arrested wagons.
