Petroleum products were found in the rivers of Kherson Region


After the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovska HPP, oil products were found in the rivers of the Kherson region.

Oil products were found in at least two rivers in the Kherson region — Koshova and Viryovchyna — after the explosion of the Kakhovska HPP. This was reported in Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Experts also took samples of water in the Dnipro near the Antonivsky Bridge. The results of the analysis showed an excess of suspended solids by 1.28 times, the level of iron in the water is 2.4 times higher than the permissible norm. Oil products were not detected in the Dnipro.

The permissible concentration of suspended solids in the Ingulets River is exceeded by 1.68 times. The level of iron in the water is 2.3 times higher than the norm. The amount of chlorides exceeds the norm by 1.16 times, and sulfates by 2.4 times. The amount of dissolved oxygen is more than one and a half times less than the norm and is 2.5 mg/dm3.

Previously, USM wrote that as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovska HPP, the water condition around Kherson port has significantly deteriorated.
