Pletenchuk: Ukraine does not have enough drones to destroy Russian submarines

To destroy Russian submarines, Ukraine needs more aircraft and ships.

In the fight against submarines of the Russian Federation, you cannot do without drones alone. This was stated by the spokesman of the Armed Forces Navy, 3rd rank Captain Dmytro Pletenchuk, “Ukrinform” reports.

The spokesman emphasized that such tasks are performed by large ships or aviation.

We will remind you that Ukraine cornered the Russian Black Sea Fleet last year, which is why it is no longer considered an important factor in the war. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine disabled 24 Russian ships and 1 submarine.

Currently, the Russians carry out their tasks mostly in the eastern part of the Black Sea. The Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation is mainly responsible for the training of sailors and the defense of military bases.

“The grouping of Russian warships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is quite powerful, but cruise missile carriers were mainly used in combat operations against Ukraine. However, these weapons systems have not been used for quite some time, Pletenchuk noted. — That is, in fact, now the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation takes care of two main issues: the protection and defense of the bases in the water area and the control of civil shipping and the training process of their sailors.”

Recently, USM wrote that Russian ships in the Black Sea began to launch  much fewer “Kalibrs” during missile attacks on Ukraine. This is probably due to the wear and tear of the rocket launchers.
