Poland suspended negotiations with Ukraine because of the Solskyi case
Poland suspended negotiations with Ukraine regarding farmers’ protests due to the suspicion announced to the Minister of Agricultural Policy, Mykola Solskyi.
The negotiations were stopped due to the suspicion of corruption, announced to the Minister of Agricultural Policy Mykola Solskyi and his deputy Markiyan Dmytrasevich. This is reported by Dziennik.pl with reference to an interview with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Poland, Michal Kolodziejczak.
According to Kolodziejczak, Poland and Ukraine planned another round of negotiations on May 14. However, the negotiations were canceled due to the fact that “some of their representatives were accused of corruption.”
“Obviously, we will not negotiate with people who are accused of corruption,” commented Kolodziejczak and added that “this issue should be clarified.”
The deputy Polish minister also stated that the protests of Polish farmers are almost over, and those that are still taking place are being organized “by political order.”
We will remind, on May 9, Mykola Solskyi was dismissed from the post of Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
On April 23, NABU accused the Minister of Agrarian Policy of expropriating state land worth UAH 291 million and attempting to expropriate land worth another UAH 190 million.
USM previously reported that the Ukrainian Grain Association came to the defense of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solskyi.
