Poland will demand to review the agreement between Ukraine and the EU
Poland is determined to demand at the EU level the restoration of permits for Ukrainian carriers.
Poland, Hungary and Slovakia expect the European Commission to revise the agreement between Ukraine and the EU on exports. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Poland Rafal Weber.
Weber said that he has “solid data” that indicate “unfair competition” on the part of Ukrainian carriers. According to him, before the full-scale invasion, out of 100 crossings between the two countries, 35 were served by Polish carriers, 65 by Ukrainian carriers. Instead, now 90 crossings are served by Ukrainian carriers, and only 10 by Polish ones.
“We do not object to continuing to support Ukraine, we are a leader on this front. However, we cannot allow any assistance to be provided at the expense of Polish companies,” said the deputy minister.
As of the morning of December 4, 2,500 trucks were waiting in line to cross the border from Poland to Ukraine. On the same day, empty vehicles began to pass from Ukraine to Poland through the “Ugryniv – Dolgobychiv” point.
