Poland will not change the decision to ban the import of Ukrainian grain
Poland will not change its decision to ban grain imports from Ukraine, despite Ukraine’s appeal to the World Trade Organization.
“We stick to our position. Such a complaint to the WTO does not make an impression on us, and we do not intend to cancel the embargo that was introduced because of this,” Polish government spokesman Piotr Müller said.
Mueller emphasized that the Polish government believes that “the position is correct, which arises from the analysis of the economic situation, as well as international legislation and EU law.”
At the same time, the government spokesman assured that Poland will continue to support Ukraine in the light of Russian aggression.
As reported, on September 15, the European Commission stated that thanks to the work of the Coordination Platform and temporary measures, market distortions in five states bordering Ukraine were eliminated. In this regard, the EC decided not to extend its decision regarding the ban on the import of goods from Ukraine. At the same time, it is noted that Ukraine should take measures to prevent any market distortions in neighboring countries.
In turn, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary introduced national bans on the import of agricultural goods from Ukraine.
