Polish companies can start working in Ukrainian ports


A familiarization meeting was held at UkrainianSea Ports Authority with the participation of the company’s management and a delegation from the Polish Embassy.

The Head of the USPA, Oleksandr Semyrha, thanked the Polish side for its consistent support of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the USPA reported.

“Poland has remained an important ally of Ukraine since the first days of the war. We are sincerely grateful for this support and appreciate the Polish side as a strategic partner in the development of port logistics and the development of long-term economic partnership,” he noted.

The parties discussed the situation in the ports of Great Odesa after the missile strikes, as well as current challenges in the field of port security. Special attention was paid to the possibilities of involving Polish companies in work in Ukrainian sea ports, in particular in the field of container transportation and transshipment of bulk cargo. Plans for opening new transit routes were also discussed.

During the conversation, the parties confirmed their common interest in maintaining constant dialogue and practical interaction. In this context, the preparation of an economic mission of Polish companies to Odesa, scheduled for the end of June, was separately discussed.

Chargé d’Affaires ai Piotr Lukasiewicz confirmed readiness to continue supporting Ukraine and interest in deepening sectoral cooperation.

Earlier, USM reported that Greece could become a partner of Ukraine in the restoration and development of the maritime industry.
