Polish farmers are protesting the construction of a road to the terminal
In Poland, farmers came to a rally against the construction of a road to the terminal where agricultural products from Ukraine are transhipped.
On Monday, June 3, Polish farmers from the organization “Pidkarpathian Deceived Village” blocked the national road DK 77, writesTVP3 Rzeszów.
They oppose the construction of a road to the terminal in Zhuravytsa, where products from Ukraine are transhipped.
The road under construction should provide a better connection with the national road DK 77, which is currently the only access road to the terminal in Zhuravica. The terminal handles cargo transported by rail from and to Ukraine, in particular agricultural products.
The protestors claim that this will increase traffic on the national highway and deprive local farmers of their land.
“We demand that the road construction work be stopped, this area is very valuable from an agricultural point of view. This will complicate the work of farmers, take away valuable fields from them, and also make it difficult for residents to move,” protestors said.
The road blockade is expected to last until June 30.
It will be recalled that at the beginning of June, Polish farmers resumed protests on the border with Ukraine.
