Polish farmers will protest at the border with Ukraine, but will not block the road, — Consul General

Polish farmers will gather for a protest on the Polish-Ukrainian border on January 23, but will not block traffic.
This was reported to Ukrinform by the Consul General of Ukraine in Lublin, Oleh Kuts, who met with representatives of local authorities and police on this issue.
He also noted that in the event of an attempt to block traffic towards the Dolgobychów-Uhrynów checkpoint, the local authorities have promised to disperse the gathering.
“Farmers plan to hold a public gathering on the side of the road on January 23 without creating obstacles to traffic. In the event of traffic being blocked, the police will contact the local authorities to stop the gathering,” the Consul General reported.
Kuts explained that the farmers received permission only to gather along the road, but not to block the road to the border. Polish farmers have been warned about this by local authorities and law enforcement officers.
Polish farmers will protest against what they believe are uncompetitive conditions for importing Ukrainian agricultural products to Poland, as well as against the signed trade agreement between the EU and the countries of South America (Mercosur).
USM previously reported that Polish companies could go bankrupt due to refusal to transship Ukrainian grain.
