Polluted sea waters will reach the shores of Romania and Bulgaria in a few days
Polluted water in the Black Sea is rapidly moving south and may reach neighboring countries in the near future.
“Satellite data shows that the polluted water reached the Gulf yesterday. That is, the water is moving south faster and faster. In a day or two, these polluted waters can reach our neighbors — Romania and Bulgaria,” said Viktor Komorin, director of the Ukrainian National Center for Marine Ecology, Ukrinform reports.
The expert noted that the countries are undergoing the same changes in the marine ecosystem as the Black Sea in the Odesa water area.
Also, the director of the Ukrainian National Center for Marine Ecology noted that the issue of the institute’s scientists going out to sea to take water samples a little further from the shore is currently being resolved. This is necessary to understand exactly which pollutants have entered the Black Sea.
According to him, the research of water in the sea can become part of the criminal case on ecocide, which was opened by the prosecutor’s office due to the undermining of the HPP dam.
We will remind you that on the night of June 6, 2023, the Russians blew up the Kakhovska HPP dam.
