Port tugs will remove debris from the Odesa coast

Port tugs were involved in cleaning up debris and garbage that washed up on the coast of Odesa after the occupiers blew up the Kakhovska HPP.

The local authorities of Odesa said that tugboats were involved in cleaning up the wreckage and garbage that was carried by the current to the coast. All local and state services are involved in the liquidation of the consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovskaya Dam. Currently, sites are being prepared for garbage collection. This was announced by the mayor of Odesa, Gennadiy Trukhanov.

According to specialists’ forecasts, the amount of garbage near Odesa will increase significantly in the coming days. The biggest danger is river mines, the official said.

Such explosive devices are small in size and can be invisible at sea. Their demining is impossible, so the military will detonate the mines on the spot.

Previously, USM wrote that as a result of the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovska HPP, the flow of water broke the mine and explosive barriers of the occupiers. Currently, a large number of mines are drifting in the water downstream.
