Ports of Great Odesa have processed over 20 million tons of cargo since the beginning of the year

Despite shelling and threats from the Russian army, Ukrainian ports continue to operate stably.
In the first quarter of 2025, Ukrainian ports processed 23 million tons of cargo, according to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
The largest volumes of cargo handling are in the ports of Great Odesa. Since the beginning of the year, they have processed 20.7 million tons of cargo:
• Pivdennyi Port — 10.6 million tons,
• Black Sea Port — 6.6 million tons,
• Odessa Port — 3.5 million tons.
The ports of the Danube region — Izmail, Reni and Ust-Dunaysk — together handled more than 2.3 million tons of cargo.
For comparison, in the first quarter of 2024, Ukrainian ports processed 27.8 million tons of cargo — 4.8 million tons more than this year.
The USPA explained that the decrease in cargo turnover is associated with the reduction of agricultural land and the decline in production in export-oriented industries, in particular metallurgy, which exported up to 80% of its products before the war.
At the global level, cargo transshipment is also decreasing due to market instability and logistics disruptions.
As previously reported by USM, the EBA calls on the Government to restore the operation of the Mykolaiv port.
