Pro-Russian hackers attacked port sites in the Netherlands
The pro-Russian hacker group NoName attacked the websites of Dutch ports, in particular Rotterdam.
Hackers have carried out DDoS attacks, in which a large number of requests are sent to the site to overload the servers, RTL Nieuws reports.
The sites of the ports of Groningen, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Den Helder were attacked. Their sites were down all weekend and for a few hours on Tuesday, June 13th.
According to the Rotterdam port administration, the cyber attack was carried out from Russian and Serbian IP addresses. However, the hackers were not able to cause any damage to the sites, except for temporary inaccessibility.
Systems for processing port shipments are not at risk because they run on other servers.
Hackers from the NoName group said on social networks that the cyberattacks were a response to the Netherlands’ intention to purchase Swiss Leopard tanks for Ukraine.
