Rates on UZ grain trucks have dropped significantly
Last week, the rates for the use of grain trucks of the branch of TSL UZ decreased.
At the beginning of December, the average rate for a CTL wagon was UAH 4,300. However, at the auction held on December 19, 1,140 (65%) of the offered 1,750 cars were rented, the price was UAH 3,083 per day, Elevatorist reports.
At auctions on December 21, only 470 grain trucks (27%) were bought out of the same number of offered wagons, the price for them was UAH 2,848 per day.
“The demand for wagons is decreasing, so the price at auctions is also decreasing. We see that the market has started to decline in terms of the cost of the car, and we will continue to adapt to the market situation,” said Valery Tkachov, deputy director of the commercial department of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Previously, USM wrote that freight rates from Black Sea ports decreased during the last week. In particular, rates for shipment of “handy sizes” from Ukraine during the week fell by another 3-5 dollars per ton .
