Restoration of transport infrastructure in Ukraine is digitized
The Cabinet of Ministers supported the initiative of the Ministry of Infrastructure to introduce a digital management system for the reconstruction of transport infrastructure.
The government has adopted a resolution that gives a start to the experimental project on the implementation of the Digital Management System for the reconstruction of transport infrastructure.
Thanks to the new system, the process of rebuilding damaged and destroyed infrastructure will be transparent and open to business, international partners, experts and the public, the MIU notes.
The new IT system will allow monitoring the entire infrastructure project cycle: from design, public procurement, construction, reconstruction and repair work to the commissioning of finished facilities.
“Using the principle of “everyone sees everything” will enable the public and international partners to clearly understand where and how funds aimed at recovery are being spent. The implementation of Digital Reconstruction Management will contribute to the efficient, transparent and accountable distribution of funds for infrastructure restoration,” said Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.
In the future, this system can become the basis of the Electronic Reconstruction Management System for all industries. In addition, the other day the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on reparations to Ukraine from russia, which in particular recognizes the need to create, in cooperation with Ukraine, an international damage compensation mechanism and an international damage register.
MIU is working to integrate the international register of damages with the Ukrainian register of damaged property, which is the basis of Digital Reconstruction Management.
The launch of the system is planned for the beginning of 2023.
