Resumption of maritime exports of agricultural products requires international support, — Ministry of Agrarian Policy

Restoring safe shipping and full-fledged exports through the ports of Great Odesa is currently the main task for the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
This was stated by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotskyi.
According to him, there is no alternative to the ports of Great Odesa in the medium term. Vysotskyi called on Ukrainian diplomats to more actively attract international support to protect maritime logistics.
The minister reported that the total losses of the agricultural sector since 2022 have exceeded $90 billion, and arable land has decreased by almost a quarter. The industry provides about 56% of Ukraine’s export revenue and employment for 20% of workers.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy is also preparing new support mechanisms for 2027. This includes compensation of UAH 10,460 per hectare of lost crops and UAH 3,900 per hectare of land occupied by fortifications.
Other priorities include opening new markets, developing processing, bioenergy, land reclamation and irrigation, and expanding the “5-7-9%” program.
