Romania closed access to its ports to ships with Russian cargo
Since July 24, Romania has introduced a ban on the entry of ships that can carry goods of Russian origin into its ports.
We are talking about ships that load cargo at sea by the STS (ship-to-ship) method, if there is reason to believe that the cargo originates from the Russian Federation, reports CTS.
Vessels that disable the automatic identification system (AIS) are also banned.
Vessels planning to tranship cargo using the STS method in EU waters (or within 12 nautical miles of their shores) must notify the competent authorities no later than 48 hours before the operation.
Romania introduced the ban in accordance with the 11th package of EU sanctions against Russia.
