Romania neutralizes Russian mine that washed ashore from the Black Sea

The Romanian Navy has detonated and neutralized a YRM mine that had washed up on the Black Sea coast.
This was reported by the Romanian Ministry of Defense, writes Reuters.
In particular, it is known that the mine was of the Russian YRM type (editor’s note – anchor river mine). It was discovered on the coast between two coastal cities.
In total, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Romanian troops have neutralized nine of the 156 mines that have been detected and destroyed in the Black Sea.
It should be noted that Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey have a joint operational group to neutralize mines drifting in the Black Sea.
Recall that in March, the Romanian Ministry of Defense stated that Russia is solely responsible for the mine danger in the Black Sea. Thus, Bucharest rejected the Russian embassy’s statements about the alleged Ukrainian origin of sea mines.
