Rosneft tanker arrived in the UAE

A tanker with russian oil has been standing near the coast of the UAE for 3 days. The Persian Gulf country is likely to become a buyer of russian raw materials.

At the beginning of October, Suezmax Tahiti left Murmansk. On Wednesday evening, the ship arrived at the UAE port of El-Ruwaisi. The tanker anchored at a berth serving ADNOC’s Abu Dhabi refinery and spent 36 hours there.

It is worth noting that El-Ruwais is located inside the Persian Gulf, so it is unlikely that the ship went there to refuel, Bloomberg notes.

The signals from the tanker do not indicate that it is unloaded, but the vessel’s draft is entered manually and may not have been updated. Currently, the Tahiti draft indicates that only part of the cargo remains on board. An ADNOC representative declined to comment.

We would like to remind that russian Federation is actively looking for new buyers of its raw materials, as the EU embargo on Rosneft enters into force on December 5. The aggressor country is trying to find sources of sales for about 1.5 million barrels of crude oil before the sanctions take effect.
