Russia attacked the port infrastructure of the Odesa region

On the night of July 24, Russia struck the civilian infrastructure of the Odesa region – seaports and transport hubs, as well as residential areas.
As a result of the attack with “shaheeds”, Russia hit logistics facilities, railway rolling stock, buildings in the city and buildings in the historical center, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine reported.
“There are wounded. People are being provided with all necessary assistance, a rescue operation is underway. Fortunately, there were no casualties among port and railway workers – the personnel were evacuated in time thanks to the monitoring and alert system,” the department noted.
The strike was aimed at facilities that ensure the operation of the transport network. Grain warehouses, loading equipment, administrative premises were damaged. Part of the equipment was destroyed.
The infrastructure of Ukrzaliznytsia was also destroyed – rolling stock was destroyed, tracks and control systems were damaged.
“This shelling is yet another evidence that Russia is purposefully trying to destroy our transport hubs, export opportunities, and the lives of civilians. Ukraine is doing everything to strengthen people’s security and achieve a just peace,” the Ministry of Development added.
